forgotten bits of me

While slurping around on Facebook, filling in time while babysitting kids because hey it is better than Pepper Pig, I found this blog I started some time ago.  And reading it, I felt a sense of identification. A favourite story, a turn of phrase, a remembered thing. Yes, it was my blog, bits of me stored in a forgotten corner like a   box of stuff left in the garage after shifting.

I guess we all shed bits of ourselves in lots of different ways.  Sometimes, we choose to change our habits and lifestyle goals like taking up a hobby.  We dream cast an idea , and work towards it and in doing so leave behind the bits that we no longer have time for.  Sometimes, we are forced to change by life circumstances, sometimes this is a direct action, like an injury. Other times we can see that if we don't 'change our ways' (my mother would say) we realise the consequences can be worse what we might leave behind.  At other times, we are choosing joy, friendship and hope. Although, it is rarely as simple as any of that.

And in the changing and shedding, the gathering up and the leaving behind, the letting go and the looking forward, I guess there really is "a season for every time and purpose under heaven"
